In the film industry, cross-media convergence is used to help the film get more people to know about the films release and therefore get more viewers. The Inbetweeners Movie is an example of cross-media convergence being successful to distribute a film.

Cross-media convergence was used in the distribution of the film because the film was an adaptation of the sitcom The Inbetweeners on E4, a sister channel of Channel 4 which owns Film 4. Teaser trailers were showed on the Internet and mainly on Channel 4 and E4, in the adverts of the TV channel. This will help target the audience of young people, which the film was aimed at, as E4 is a channel that targets teenagers and young adults. By revealing teaser trailers of the film on E4, the film also gained the fan base on the sitcom as the teaser trailer will come on in the middle and end of each episode.

Vertical Integration – This is when a production company owns the production, distribution and exhibition of the film. This means they receive all the profit from the films.

Horizontal Integration – This is when a production company expands into other areas of one industry. This means that the company can develop in a particular area of production or they can buy out another company that deals with these areas.

I chose these images on class and status because they all show the different levels class in society throughout history. The image on the top right is the Queen who is in the highest class in Britain as she was born in the royal family. The bottom left has three slaves tied at the neck who weren't treated as humans. The letter also shows a receipt for 250 slaves being shipped to America. These pictures show how society was dominated by rich white people in history but the difference in class changed overtime as shown by Obama who is the President.
